Sarah Fitzgerald proves the statement “Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat” true.
A 2002 UK graduate, she currently works as a Donor Relations and Stewardship Officer for University of Kentucky Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. Sarah confidently bleeds blue.
In her time as a student, Sarah discovered you can be lost or found at UK. You can be found in a particular group or club you’re searching for, filling a niche you might’ve not even known was there. Sarah speaks of her experience as an employee of the university the very same.
“You can come here, you can do your job, do it well and go home,” Sarah said. “Or you can come here and take that extra step.” That extra step, in her journey, has been joining the UK Staff Senate.
She says the university can fit many different people in equally different and unique ways. There’s been a place for her here, both as an undergraduate student and now as an employee for almost 13 years.
“You have the big and the small at the same time,” Sarah said. “You can be lost, or you can be found.”
